Scholarships

2021-2022 Financial Aid Levels

All Arizona Christian University scholarships require students to be enrolled full time and maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA (unless otherwise noted). Scholarships listed on this website are available to students who will begin classes at ACU in Fall 2021. Students starting at ACU in the Spring 2022 semester are encouraged to contact the ACU Admissions Department at [email protected] for any questions regarding scholarship eligibility.

Merit Scholarships

A merit scholarship is based on a student’s proven scholastic ability. All scholarship offers are subject to final transcript review and continued proven scholastic performance. All merit scholarships are renewable for up to 4 years (8 consecutive semesters) and are reviewed at the end of every Spring semester.

First-Time Freshman Scholarship Options

Honors Scholarships

All students who accept an honors scholarship are required to live on campus.

In order to be considered for one of the following scholarships, first-time incoming freshmen must fill out ACU’s Honors Application and receive an invitation to participate in the Honors Event. In order to fill out the Honors Application, students must be accepted to ACU with an unweighted GPA of 3.75 or higher and submission of their official SAT or ACT score. These scholarships are limited and offered to students based on interview performance, academic performance, servant leadership qualities and other factors. Students should submit official ACT or SAT scores, resumes and recommendation letters as part of their honors application. President’s Scholarship (Full Tuition, renewable for up to 4 years)

Renewal GPA* – 3.7

Provost’s Scholarship (85% of full time tuition each year, renewable for up to 4 years)

Renewal GPA* – 3.5

Dean’s Scholarship (75% of full time tuition each year, renewable for up to 4 years)

Renewal GPA* – 3.5

Academic Scholarships

Firestorm Academic Excellence Award ($14,000 a year, renewable for up to 4 years)

Academic scholarships are calculated based on a combination of GPA and test scores.
Requirement – Minimum 3.6 unweighted, cumulative GPA
Renewal GPA*  – 3.0

ACU Scholar Award ($12,000 a year, renewable for up to 4 years)

Academic scholarships are calculated based on a combination of GPA and test scores.
Requirement – Minimum 3.25 unweighted, cumulative GPA
Renewal GPA* – 2.75

Faculty Award ($10,000 a year, renewable for up to 4 years)

Academic scholarships are calculated based on a combination of GPA and test scores.
Requirement – Minimum 3.0 unweighted, cumulative GPA
Renewal GPA* – 2.5

Transfer Scholarships

Transfer Scholar Award ($10,000 per year)

Requirements – Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA
Renewal GPA* – 3.0

Transfer Achievement Award ($8,000 per year)

Requirements – 3.0-3.49 cumulative GPA
Renewal GPA* – 2.5

Transfer Academic Award ($6,000 per year)

Requirements – 2.5-2.99 cumulative GPA
Renewal GPA* – 2.0

*Renewal GPA is defined as the cumulative GPA a student must maintain while attending ACU in order to renew their scholarship for the following school year.

Athletic Scholarships

A student-athlete’s full institutional scholarship package is determined by the athletic department. The student-athlete will be offered a scholarship based on an evaluation of the following:

  1. Achievements in the classroom
  2. Assessment of his/her contribution to the team
  3. Leadership qualities aligning with the university mission

Music Scholarships

These audition-based annual scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional music talent. Vocal and instrumental scholarships are available and awarded on an audition-basis only. The scholarships are subject to review at the end of each Spring semester.

Church Matching Awards

In order to qualify for this award, students must receive financial sponsorship from a church. ACU will match up to $500 of church-support per semester. The ACU Church Matching Application is required. Sponsorship checks should be payable to Arizona Christian University and attached to application. If sponsoring for both Fall and Spring semesters, checks should be written separately for each semester (submitted in August and January).
