SALT NextGen Ministries

ACU Credit and Equivalency Policy 2024-2025

The University has a signed MOU with SALT NextGen Ministries (SGN) to transfer in courses from SALT on a limited basis. ACU acknowledges that while SGN is not an institutionally accredited institution, it is an institution that aligns with ACU’s mission and statement of faith. It is the responsibility of the student to determine if such transfer courses will be acceptable for graduate programs or any other past-baccalaureate programs to which the student intends to apply.

All credits earned at SGN will be deemed transferable to ACU as general electives to the extent that the program selected by the student requires general electives. Courses specified below will be applied on a course-by-course basis if the course is applicable to the program.

  • Students must receive a (C/70%) or better to transfer the course. For institutions that use a +/- grading scale, a C- will be considered equivalent to a C.
  • The grade in the course will not be recorded on ACU transcripts and will not affect the student’s GPA.
  • All courses from SGN will be considered lower division with the exception of the classes above which will be brought in on a one-to-one basis with upper division ACU courses.
  • A maximum of 84 lower division credits may be accepted into any ACU program.

LIA101 and Bible Minor Courses

Students with 28 or more transferable credits toward their degree may apply 3 credit hours of transfer credit toward the ACU required LIA101 class. This may be any 3-credit class (or combination of classes) from SGN that are transferable but not applied elsewhere in the student’s chosen program.

ACU will accept SGN transfer credits towards lower division Bible Minor and Humanities classes, regardless of the major chosen (including Biblical Studies and Christian Ministries majors). ACU may apply transfer credit to the following general education and Bible course requirements:

If the applied transfer classes are Bible classes from SGN, then the student will qualify for the Bible Minor at ACU.
