Consistency is key

Color consistency and repetition are essential factors in maintaining a clear sense of visual identity and help to maximize brand recognition. The secondary colors could also be called “accent” colors and may be used to enhance the primary colors without detracting from or dominating them.

Primary colors

The State of Arizona is known for beautiful imagery and vivid colors. ACU’s brand contains important elements that are meant to resonate feelings associated with the Grand Canyon State. Firestorm Red is our primary color and pairs well with any color in our selected pallette. ACU’s Teal is an exciting new color as of 2019; however, we prefer the color to be used in moderation to support colors.

Secondary colors

These colors with the exception of white and black should never be used on their own. We prefer that one secondary color can be paired with one or multiple primary colors. Shapes and background styles are usually good design methods to incorporate ACU secondary colors.

Color distribution in projects

Our prominent brand colors are red, yellow, dark grey and black. We ask that you stick to using those colors for the majority of your work. Please see the color wheel to the right as a guide for choosing the amount of color in a project.

2019

Arizona Christian rebranded in 2019. This resulted in a new website, new color schemes and a whole new approach to design strategy. In future years, we hope to build on that to enhance the student experience.
