Biography and Professional Achievements

Dr. Spivey has enjoyed teaching English at ACU since 2008. In teaching nearly every course in the catalog, he has had a wide range of experiences reading great literature and helping students with challenging writing projects. His personal literary interests include American fiction from the inter-War period (1920-1945), dystopian literature, and the writings of America’s founders, but he likes most anything. He also does research and writing that incorporates Austrian economic theory into literary criticism, and he is also the faculty advisor for the ACU English Club and the ACU Writing Center. In his free time, Dr. Spivey enjoys playing golf, traveling, reading, and watching films, and he has been married to his wife, Beth, since 2004. Please feel free to contact Dr. Spivey at [email protected] with any questions regarding English at ACU.
