Bachelors in Music – Music Education
Overview
The Bachelor of Science in Music with concentration in Music Education is designed for students wanting to teach music in a Charter or Private school. You will receive a strong musical foundation and develop skills in General, Choral, and Instrumental methods. As an educator, you have the ability to nurture, cultivate, and facilitate the creative and musical growth of each student under your direction.
NOTE: To teach in a public school you will need to include Education as a double major or enter a post baccalaureate program. Similar to most Music Education programs, an additional 5th year of coursework is required. This includes a semester of student teaching.

What will I study?
The Music Education program includes an innovative CORE General Studies program with integrated Biblical Studies minor. This unique program embraces a Biblical worldview of the Liberal Arts and prepares students to be influential thinkers. Career-related focus areas and courses will include:

- Choral Conducting
- Form and Analysis
- Music Theory (co-requisites: Sight Singing/Dictation, Class Piano)
