Trivia

  • The ACU Glendale Campus location was the World War II site of United States Army Air Corp pilot training Thunderbird Field
  • The land for the airfield was purchased by Hollywood stars, including Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant and Henry Fonda, who were concerned America was not training enough pilots for the impending battles of World War II
  • A 1942 movie, “The Thunderbirds” starring Gene Tierney and Preston Foster, was largely filmed on the new campus and is available for free on YouTube
