More than 20 students and staff from Arizona Christian University traveled to Washington, D.C.in January to participate in the annual March for Life, joining tens of thousands from across the nation in a peaceful demonstration advocating for the sanctity and legal protection of every human life.

The experience was both humbling and deeply meaningful—an opportunity to stand up for those who cannot advocate for themselves and to live out convictions beyond the classroom. The March for Life also offered a powerful reminder of unity. Students and staff stood shoulder to shoulder with individuals from diverse backgrounds, denominations, and perspectives, all aligned around a shared cause, even while recognizing they may not agree on every political or religious matter. This shared commitment highlighted the strength that can be found in common purpose.

Sedona Dietrich (sophomore, secondary education major) reflected, “It was amazing to be a part of something so much bigger than myself, walking with 100,000 people who also believe that every human life has so much value and is worth advocating for and protecting.”

Macie Molter (senior, elementary education major) shared, “It was truly a gift and super encouraging to see so many groups of people unified under a common mission to protect life – something so sacred and meek… just beautiful to see voices join together for something so good for society – for moms and babies.”

Students and staff raised money to fund the trip and were provided additional financial support from the University – which declares itself through its Core Commitments as an officially committed, pro-life University. All faculty, staff, coaches, administrators and Trustees sign a statement of support for the sanctity of life every year.

Beyond the March itself, students were able to explore the history of our Nation’s Capital, attending a tour of the Museum of the Bible, visiting the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, exploring the National Mall and more.  This trip was also a memorable reminder of God’s provision. By His grace, the group was able to travel safely and depart the city just ahead of what became one of the largest snowstorms Washington, D.C. had seen in years. The journey served not only as an act of advocacy, but also as a testament to faith, fellowship, and gratitude for God’s protection throughout the experience.
