Arizona Christian University is experiencing a season of vibrant growth and renewal—spiritually, academically, and physically. From new discipleship programs and facility upgrades to meaningful partnerships and campus traditions, ACU continues to build a Christian community where students can flourish in faith and purpose.

Investing in Students: A New Discipleship Program

In partnership with Billie Hanks and a grant from the International Evangelism Association, ACU has launched a new Discipleship Program that gives every incoming student the opportunity to be mentored by someone in full-time ministry.

Through the Becoming a Disciple Maker workbook, students grow in their understanding of Scripture while gaining hands-on ministry experience by serving and learning to share their faith alongside local churches and ministries.

This initiative strengthens ACU’s commitment to evangelism, one of its Core Commitments, by developing students who share their faith boldly in the community.

Campus Growth and Facility Enhancements

As students returned to campus this fall, they were greeted by a wave of improvements across ACU’s growing Glendale campus—each designed to enrich the student experience and support academic and extracurricular excellence.

Athletic Expansion

The northwest side of campus is nearing completion, featuring new soccer and lacrosse fields, a baseball field, and sand volleyball courts. These new facilities not only enhance athletic training and competition but also strengthen Firestorm pride across the student body.

Safety and Housing Upgrades

ACU has completed phase one of new key card access systems across all residence halls, with additional upgrades planned over Christmas break.

Thanks to a generous foundation grant, housing renovations include remodeled showers, refreshed carpet, and new paint—creating a more comfortable and secure environment for students.

Academic Enhancements

The ACU Library received both a new roof and exterior updates, including new paint. ACU also added an Exercise Physiology Lab to support expanding programs in health sciences. These improvements reflect ACU’s mission to equip students with both spiritual and practical tools for leadership.

Enhanced Dining and Campus Life

In July, ACU partnered with Provider Food Services to launch an upgraded dining experience. Students are loving the smash burgers and fish tacos at Tower Grill and the fresh daily selections in The Commons.

Menus can be viewed through the Provider Dining app—available on Apple App Store and Google Play—helping students stay connected to what’s being served each day.

Honoring a Legacy: West Side Bible Church Classroom Dedication

On Friday, October 17, 2025, ACU hosted a special dedication ceremony to honor the generosity and ministry of West Side Bible Church.

The event celebrated the church’s extraordinary gift—the donation of its property to Arizona Christian University in 2024, marking the largest gift in ACU’s 64-year history. This partnership allows West Side Bible Church to continue its ministry on ACU’s campus while expanding its impact through ACU’s biblical worldview–driven education.

President Len Munsil, Vice President Anthony Allen, and COO James Griffiths joined Elder Board Chair Mark Crigler and Pastor Greg Johannes in reflecting on the church’s faithfulness and shared vision to equip future Christian leaders.

The newly dedicated classroom now stands as a living tribute to West Side’s legacy—a space where students will continue to be trained to influence culture for Christ, and where the church will continue to meet twice weekly.

Building Community Through the Arts: ACU Atrium Concert Series

Each month, the ACU Music Department transforms the sunlit Administration Building Atrium into a space of worship and artistry through its Atrium Concert Series.

Beginning at noon on the first Wednesday of every month, these one-hour performances feature students from Applied Lessons, showcasing a variety of musical styles—from classical and gospel to pop, jazz, and musical theatre.

The concerts provide students a platform to share their creativity while offering the campus community a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate God’s gift of music.

The Atrium Concert has quickly become a beloved campus tradition—reminding all who attend of the beauty and power of live performance in building connection and community.

A Season of Renewal and Purpose

With record-breaking enrollment, expanding discipleship opportunities, and ongoing facility investments, Arizona Christian University continues to strengthen its mission to equip graduates who serve the Lord Jesus Christ as leaders of influence and excellence.

From faith to fellowship, from classrooms to concert halls, it’s clear—this is an exciting time to be a part of the Firestorm Family!
