GLENDALE, AZ – Just two years after topping 1,000 students for the first time in its history, Arizona Christian University this fall will serve more than 1,400 students with its unique brand of conservative, biblically integrated education provided in a covenantal Christian community.
ACU is celebrating 9 straight years of record enrollment, despite multi-year national trends of declining college enrollment and national expectations of significant declines this fall due to delays and problems with the federal financial aid system.
“We are grateful to God for His continued provision for ACU and our unique and vital mission,” said President Len Munsil, who began in 2010 as interim president of a then 400-student Bible college known as Southwestern College (now ACU). “With enormous headwinds facing higher education this fall, our entire enrollment team — led by Executive Vice President James Tito — did an outstanding job finding students who are great academic and spiritual fits for ACU.”
“As more and more historically Christian institutions of higher education drift from their original purpose, we are discovering a great hunger among students and parents all over America for an institution that is unapologetically conservative, biblical, pro-life, and supportive of traditional marriage and family, economic freedom and limited government,” Munsil said. “Our students come from all over America and the world, and from all sorts of economic and ethnic backgrounds, but they are united by their commitment to follow Christ and courageously engage culture with biblical truth and the hope of the gospel.”
ACU’s connected and active community provides students with many extracurricular opportunities, from varsity and intramural athletics, to music performance, local service projects and campus leadership positions. ACU’s award-winning and highly credentialed and dedicated faculty are known for their love of students and their commitment to their students’ academic and spiritual success.
“I am immensely proud of our staff for their collaborative efforts to provide every student with an exceptional enrollment experience,” said ACU Executive Vice President James Tito. “Dr. Pete Dryer, our Director of Athletics and Dean of Students, and Dr. Jeff Green, our Vice President of Academic Affairs, worked diligently with our enrollment management specialists to address any potential housing or class availability concerns, ensuring a smooth and stress-free process for our students.”
Arizona Christian University’s national visibility has increased greatly in part due to the arrival of Dr. George Barna as Director of Research at ACU’s Cultural Research Center. Barna, for decades known as the most quoted Christian leader in America, has been publishing ground-breaking research at the intersection of faith and culture through the CRC at ACU since 2020. His latest book, “Raising Spiritual Champions,” is a best-seller published by Arizona Christian University Press in 2023.
ACU draws students from more than 40 states and 30 countries to its classically based, liberal arts curriculum taught from a conservative, biblical worldview. Recent graduates have gone on to Harvard and other prestigious law schools, top-notch seminaries, medical schools, and other graduate schools, including ACU’s own master’s degree programs in Marriage and Family Therapy, Education, and Christian Leadership. Other graduates have started small businesses and Christian-based nonprofits, taken teaching positions in public, charter and Christian schools, and started careers in media, politics, public service and in pastoral and worship ministry.
ACU students are encouraged to seek out positions of leadership in our culture, employing biblical values and a commitment to Christian ethics and hard work that brings glory to God.
