About the Plot of Big Fish

“Big Fish” follows the story of Edward Bloom (played by Matthew Espenson), a man with a penchant for telling tall tales about his extraordinary life. As his health declines, his son Will (played by Statler Rardin) seeks to uncover the truth behind his father’s fantastical stories. Through a series of flashbacks, we witness Edward’s larger-than-life adventures, from encountering witches and giants to falling in love with Sandra (played by Victoria Brasfield). Along the way, Will learns valuable lessons about the power of storytelling, the importance of family, and the riches of life.

Reflecting on the Performance

At its core, “Big Fish” was a celebration of faith, family, and the power of storytelling. It reminded us of the importance of sharing our experiences with others and staying true to ourselves even in the face of adversity. As we gathered at Haven Church to share this experience with our community, we were reminded of the impact that theater can have on our lives and the lives of those around us.

Celebrating the Success of Big Fish

As the final curtain fell on “Big Fish,” our entire university was filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment. This production was more than just a show—it was a testament to the talent, creativity, and spirit of ACU.
