After a national search, Arizona Christian University is delighted to announce the hiring of Dr. Jeffrey Green as its new Vice President of Academic Affairs and chief academic officer.

Dr. Green is the Dean of the Graduate School and Associate Provost for Academic Operations at Houston Christian University (formerly Houston Baptist University), and an Associate Professor of Philosophy. As director of the Institute of Christianity and Scholarship, he assists in the hiring process and faculty development with regards to the integration of faith and scholarship.

“We are thrilled to bring a scholar and administrator of Dr. Green’s caliber to Arizona Christian University,” said ACU President Len Munsil. “His experience initiating, leading and growing excellent ground and online academic programs is a perfect fit for ACU at this moment in our history. He is committed to ACU’s mission and our conservative, biblical worldview foundations, and has a passion for academic excellence.”

“I am excited to be joining the ACU family and partnering with faculty and staff who care deeply about the gospel and have a passion for discipling students to be leaders of influence,” said Dr. Green. “Kara and I are looking forward to making a home in Arizona and getting to know the area and its people.”

ACU’s Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Ed Clavell, will transition leadership responsibilities to Dr. Green while taking on responsibility as the Project Manager for ACU’s first Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) grant, a $3-million grant over five years. ACU’s former Provost and chief academic officer, Dr. Steve Adamson, was chosen as the 18th President of Erskine College in Due West, South Carolina, early in 2022.

CarterBaldwin Executive Search assisted in the national search. Dr. Green and his wife Kara, a nurse practitioner, will make the move to Arizona after the first of the year, and Dr. Green will begin work at ACU the week of January 16, 2023.
