October 18-23 was Homecoming Week here at ACU, and a full slate of activities for students and alumni showed just how great it is to be a member of the Firestorm Family!

The week started with the annual all-women Powderpuff flag football game! This year’s game featured our Upperclass facing off against the Underclass in a battle for the ages. Ultimately the Underclass women walked away with the win–and campus bragging rights for the next year!

The festivities continued with a special Alumni chapel service on Tuesday, where students were blessed to be led in worship by our alumni band and to hear a message from Tim Reed, current Alumni Engagement Specialist and beloved former Campus Pastor and long-time faculty member at ACU.

Other activities during Homecoming week included an NFL watch-party and a frenzied game of Hide and Glow Seek on campus!

Homecoming week culminated on October 23 with the Firestorm football game on Saturday. There was live music and worship, activities for families, alumni basketball and softball games and a big blowout win by the Firestorm against Texas College by the score of 64-16! The 2021 Homecoming Court was recognized as well, and included Kody Dehart, Isaac Souza, Jonathan (Jon) Decious, Calgary (Cally) Marsh, Camryn Degutis, and Aubrianna (Aubri) Green. Seniors Brett Wagner and Sophie Henze were crowned Homecoming King and Queen!

Homecoming Court candidates were selected based on their academic achievements, campus leadership, and community involvement as exemplified through ACU’s Core Values of Faith, Influence, Relationship, and Excellence.

We are so thankful for the Firestorm Family who came out to celebrate with us, and for the memories we are able to create together.
