On January 30th, Arizona Christian University’s Arizona Shine 90.9 organized Arizona’s Biggest Baby Shower, collecting thousands of baby items for Community Pregnancy Centers across Arizona.
In celebration of Sanctity of Life Month, Arizona Shine listeners were encouraged to get involved in caring for their community; to fill the needs of new parents by providing diapers, baby clothes, formula, bottles, baby furniture and car seats. The Arizona Shine on-air team broadcasted the need, and listeners responded by abundantly providing for these treasured lives.
Station Manager Sally Barton praised the generosity of listeners who recognized the critical need and responded. “New parents need someone to help them know how to care for their little one. The heart behind everything we do at Arizona Shine is to use this microphone to make a difference in our community. What a privilege to know that moms and dads and babies in need will have some of their physical needs met through the generosity of our listeners.”
This year marks the 16th anniversary of Arizona Shine’s outreach to community pregnancy centers. Arizona Shine, a ministry of Arizona Christian University, is a nationally-recognized Christian radio station, receiving the Station of the Year Award from Christian Music Broadcasters in 2013, and most-recently named National Religious Broadcasters 2015 Station of the Year.
