This month we’re featuring Xavier Watkins, the newest “face” in our #FirestormFaces series! ⠀

Xavier is a Junior at ACU, majoring in Biology. In addition to his academic studies, Xavier spends his spare time as a science and math tutor and is also a part of our ACU Bowling Team. He also loves the Lord and is excited to pursue God’s call on his life to become a pediatric surgeon.

Xavier chose ACU because he was drawn to the small school environment and the intentionality that he saw in the professors here. He was looking for a university that would offer him mentorship and a personal connection, and he has certainly found that at ACU.

“ACU has a student-first mentality, and I’ve experienced that firsthand,” explained Xavier. “The professors here will make extra time for you and are always available to help you succeed. I’ve been equipped to go out into the world with a great education and a deeper relationship with the Lord because of my time here.”

He also reflected on his spiritual growth while at ACU and expressed how much he has grown in his relationship with God since arriving on campus.

Xavier’s love for the Lord and his education have given him a passion for helping others and for spreading the gospel. Through mentors and professors, he has been able to excel and trust in the plans God has for his life.

We are so proud of hard-working students like Xavier who have hearts for service and a desire to grow the Kingdom. For more about Xavier’s academic and spiritual journey, check out the full-length interview below.
