Arizona Christian University is pleased to announce that former faculty member, campus pastor and current Director of Alumni Engagement Tim Reed will be the keynote speaker for the University’s 2020 Commencement. The 58th Commencement ceremony, rescheduled from May due to COVID-19, will take place on ACU’s Glendale campus on December 18, 2020 at 2 p.m.

“Pastor Tim is an institution here, and his influence on multiple generations of our students has been transformational,” said ACU President Len Munsil. “His 30 years of faithful teaching, counseling, and mentorship has changed the lives of countless students, and I’m delighted that he has agreed to address the Class of 2020 at their well-earned Commencement celebration.”

Tim Reed, B.A., M.A., began his career as a Tucson-area youth pastor, then served at Arizona Christian University for nearly 30 years as both a faculty and staff member.  He has been an instructor, Chair of the Christian Ministries Department, Campus Pastor, and is currently Director of Alumni Engagement.

His relational style of ministry is evidenced by his unparalleled involvement in student activities, and it is well established that he has attended more ACU athletic and performing arts events than any other person in the history of the institution. His investment in students’ lives hasn’t stopped at graduation, as evidenced by dozens of wedding ceremonies he has performed over the years for ACU students!

Tim Reed has had the opportunity to travel and minister in 48 states and 15 different countries. His passion is to make disciples and train leaders to change the world. Through his classes, chapels, camps, seminars, service projects and mission trips, many have been equipped to impact the next generation.

Tim and his wife, Dixie (a Pre-K teacher at Scottsdale Christian Academy), have been married 39 years and reside in Scottsdale, Arizona.  They have two children, Tara Miller and Timothy Justin Reed, four grandchildren, and ten international daughters.

In addition to Commencement, Class of 2020 graduates and their families are invited to the Senior Celebration and Dessert Reception on December 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the Event Center at ACU.
